3.5? I think?

This is one that I thought I’d love—I mean, it’s compared to sjm on the back, it’s a fantasy romance with vampires—right up my alley. But i ended up being somewhat disappointed with this one. In the first half of the book, I was bored. I thought that the world building was confusing and the pacing is really slow. I liked Hawke and Poppy’s dynamic but outside of that there wasn’t much to keep me interested. I could also see the “plot twist” if—you can call it that—coming from almost the very beginning. Also a map would’ve been really helpful.

BUT, the last like 100 pages started to get really good. So I think I’ll pick up the sequel? But yeah. It was good but definitely not what I thought it was.
