I’ve never read anything by this author before. I was instantly hooked from the beginning. Chapter 2 was a rough one to read. Please if you’re a person who can’t read anything involving DV then skip this one. It was hard for me to read and made me sick to my stomach. We get multiple POVs in this book and one that I wasn’t expecting. Elliot is so grumpy and I absolutely loved that about him. Throughout most of the book we know about Tessa’s past but we are learning along the way about Elliot’s past. The amount of pain my heart felt for these two characters is indescribable. The way you literally could feel the connection they have and how they fight it because of their past 😭 my heart was so heavy. The pacing of this book was perfect, the character development was fantastic and the storyline was heartbreaking but perfectly written. The last 15% of the book had me on the edge of my seat. I’m pretty sure I wasn’t breathing and my heart was beating loudly in my ears. The moment I finished this book I felt like I had a hangover, in the best way possible. READ THIS BOOK!
