This had so much potential! It could easily have been a 5 ⭐️ but the FMC ruined it all.

This has a great world building, the plot was good but this book is so much weaker than the first!

I have to say, I really loved the new characters, especially Taran. He’s funny and acts like he doesn’t care about much but he’s fiercely loyal. I also liked Alixe and Eleanor and Luther was a perfect MMC. I really felt bad for him the entire time because Diem kept doubting him even though he’s proven himself on more than one occasion. It feels like she doesn’t deserve him.
Seriously the FMC is so insufferable! She kept making bad choices, trusting all the wrong people, betraying her most loyal friends for people who are only using her and for what? Just to prove she hasn’t changed? It didn’t make any sense! She kept being delusional and lying to herself even though the truth was being shoved at her face more than once.
I can’t count the number of times I rolled my eyes or was tempted to throw my device across the room because of her stupidity.
I’m still going to finish this series, reading book 3 and waiting for book 4 to come out in july but I’m so sad that it has took such a disappointing turn when I believed it could have been a new favorite.
