For a book called The Centre, the amount of time actually spent at the centre is, uh, close to none! This was a slow burn and took forever to get anywhere. Ultimately, I think there was too much going on, too many directions being taken at once. Maybe this book was more interested in philosophising about the politics of language than building a structure that supported the mystery and tension it was sometimes trying to convey.
