Fake Dates and Mooncakes is a nice book to pick up if you want something quick to read or if you're in a reading slump, but I wouldn't recommend anyone going into the book with high expectations.
The main character falls in love within the first 3 chapters and it made no sense to me, as I think this book definitely would have benefited from us seeing more of their friendship blooming first.
A lot of the plot twists were also rushed and seemed they were added at the last minute. I would have loved this book to have been 50 pages longer, really letting us see how the characters were impacted by the struggles they faced.
