I really enjoyed this book. It's been a while since I instantly loved a book, but this one was that for me. Such a great entrance to a new world. I really enjoyed the characters and I'll say, I did figure out the twist but it took me a minute. If it took me longer, I think that it might have caused frustration that I had missed something, and needed to reread.

I felt some Pride and Prejudice vibes here, not sure if that was intentional, but I really felt both main characters prides got in their way (maybe not with each other always, but with their lives). I think that the main female character was strong, smart, and just great. The male main character was also strong, but he also knew that Sage could do things on her own, and do them well.

I think if you like historical romance, mixed with a very little bit of fantasy, you will enjoy this book. I can't wait to read the rest of this series.
