Shah of Shahs by Ryszard Kapuściński

Shah of Shahs
Ryszard Kapuscinski
Another fascinating read, thanks to Kapuscinski. He was certainly a reporter who gravitated toward covering “turning points” in modern history. This time, he detailed the events that led to the overthrow of Iran’s last Shah.
Sad to say, this was an event I never knew much about. A textbook never did justice to just how engrossing these events were. I couldn’t put this book down, and it unfolded with every bit as much drama and mythic quality as the best of fiction... while being true.
