I have so much nostalgia for Lord of the Rings. This was technically a reread for me, but I was pretty young when my mom read it to me and my main memory of the story was from the movie.

Of the three books/movies in this trilogy, this is my least favorite. I actually have a hard time getting through Frodo and Sam traveling through Mordor in this book. But, I still love the characters and stories and themes.

Like the first, I think I like the movie more. The books have a heavy focus on the world and the movies do a great job expanding on the character arcs and narrative.
