i was so disappointed by this sequel. i absolutely adored dear mrs bird - it had such a clear voice, such a well rounded personality, that it really felt like talking to a friend. her way of talking just leapt off the page. yours cheerfully somehow lacks that entirely. i don’t know. i was just so let down, it felt like emmeline had no personality any more other than Nineteen Forties Woman.
