Pretty Little Liars by Sara Shepard

3.0

This definitely wasn't the best book I've read but not the worst either. It lies somewhere in the middle. The premise behind the book is good; however, the execution leaves something to be desired.

There are way too many adjectives and descriptive that are irrelevant to the story. So much more could've been done in the 200 pages if unnecessary descriptions were removed.

The story has a lot of mature content - drugs, drinking, sex etc etc - but is written like it is aimed at preteens. It takes away from the story itself.

Pretty Little Liars is a long series and this is only the first book; however, I found there contained a lot of seemingly irrelevant information. It may come back to be relevant in the future, though.

I'm going to persist with the series as I'm curious as to what happens.
