The Last Apprentice: Wrath of the Bloodeye (Book 5) by Joseph Delaney
5.0
I actually really like Grimalkin. I like that she's a really kick-a** woman, and she's actually considered a villain (though she did some good in this book); this isn't just a series where you know the baddie is always going to lose. Indeed, Tom is deathly afraid of her, nearly as much as the Fiend himself, even though he saw her slay other evil witches mercilessly, witches who would have killed him. Yet, the fact she did not lay a finger on him isn't bound to make him forget her skill with a blade, woman or no woman. I'm really sad about Alice, I liked her a lot, even though she could be annoyingly obstinate sometimes. Arkwright was better at the end, but he spent most of the book as a douche. And, I've been wondering about this girls-in-pointy-shoes business. If only witches wear pointy shoes, why don't witches wear some other footwear so other people don't know what they are on sight? Overall, this is probably my most favorite book in the series.
