Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo
3.0
BEST BOOK IN THE TRILOGY. PERIOD.
While this book started off a bit slow, things picked up around the last ten chapters. Thank the Lord! I was super intrigued in the last adventures of Alina, Mal, and Nikolai. They did not disappoint. There was suspense, romance, and heartbreak. It was honestly so good to see Leigh’s writing improve throughout this series. However, I only give this book 3 stars because it was a bit slow to start. Otherwise, I loved everything else.
Again, WHY DO WE HATE MAL? I love him. He’s an amazing character. I stan. I know that he “gets in the way”, but there is so much more to him than that. Don’t discount my man like that.
Nikolai deserved more page time, but alas. I loved him anyways. What a king.
Honestly, the ending was perfect. Mal and Alina got a happy ending. That is all that I wanted. A 10/10 ending.
