This is the creepiest book I've read in years. Think about having to grope in the darkness with your eyes closed... you cannot open your eyes, no matter what... and you feel things, dead things, disgusting things, mysterious things, and you cannot open your eyes. You feel something breathing down your neck and still your eyes must remain closed.

I finished Bird Box in a night and I was captivated from page one. Absolutely fascinating and terrifying premise. Fantastic character development. And the world building is fantastic. How can you fight a monster that you cannot see (well, you can - but if you do, you automatically lose)? How can the world fight a monster it cannot see - it doesn't.
