Saint Sebastian's Abyss by Mark Haber
fast-paced
3.75
There was something about this story…
It wasn’t groundbreaking or thrilling but it was well told. The author brought a distinct voice to the page. I truly felt like I was in a conversation with an old man who kept repeating things (monkey paintings) and then dropping little gems as he wove his story. But that was also an issue I had with the book, at times I felt like I was being held hostage in a conversation with an old man.
I saw the ending coming but that was fine. Also, I didn’t love so much of the European supremacist ranting but I suppose that’s what I signed up for in this book.
