I skipped books 2 and 3, but this one intrigued me. I really enjoyed the first half, and knew we'd be getting more action in the second half. What we got was pretty compelling, but also felt rushed. I think that for once, I would have preferred a balance of more danger, or at least, in depth description of the danger, to offset all the rest of the book with the building trust and domesticity. But I did love York as a character and him finding someone who got him and loved him for who he is was lovely to read about. (Also, an appropriate amount of previous characters; they didn't overwhelm this story, which was nice to see.)
