My Rating: ❤️❤️

General Thoughts: I didn't look at reviews before going into this one. I rarely do. I wish I had on this one. It looked so cute. The cover, the blurb, and it seemed like it was going to be a fun romcom. What I got was a lot of drama. A LOT of drama! I had a hard time relating to the characters, I had a hard time seeing any chemistry or romance between them, and I had a hard time with the plot. I wanted to like this one. It had a lot of elements that I liked, but this one didn't click for me.

I listened to the audio, so I can't comment on the writing from that perspective. But there were some parts that didn't seem quite right, even on audio. Some telling instead of showing. Some quick switching back and forth. Some juvenile parts. I wanted a contemporary romance; this was not that. I wanted to see a relationship and romance flourish between the characters. I didn't see that. I wouldn't classify this as a romance.

Also, too much "not like other girls" for me. It was overdone here. Lot of potential here but I don't think it was executed well.

Then that ending--everything happened so fast. It didn't feel fleshed out. Disappointing.

I wouldn't recommend this one. I always admire anybody who is brave enough to put a novel out there, but this one wasn't for me.
