King Lear by William Shakespeare

4.0

im manifesting my way out of my reading slump and I think reading this was a great way to do that. because if I can do a first-time Shakespeare read during a reading slump, I can conquer anything, right?

I think this play definitely needs to marinate more, I might go find a production to stream (any recs?), as I feel watching a Shakespeare play is crucial to understanding its full potential. But so far, I really loved it, I loved the conversations about the relationship between humanity and the heavens and the family-drama of it all.

Not quite at the level of Macbeth and Hamlet for me (at least not yet), but I completely understand why this one is so popular within the Shakespeare canon.
