The Hating Game by Sally Thorne
lighthearted
medium-paced
3.0
It was alright, better than the movie (which I saw first) for sure. They changed so much and I don't get why, they took most of the chemistry and connection out of it. So sad.
Look, I'm a sucker for any obnoxious grump who's secretly a romantic so I'm all for Josh.
Lucy, what's up girl? I thought you were supposed to be smart! I mean the moment he makes a move on you gotta know why, right?! Like it seemed so obvious to me.
It's a cute story but I wasn't a big fan of the writing, I almost gave up after the first 10 pages, I was bored to death with those descriptions. And like Lucy harshly "hates" Josh because he's mean but I don't think we actually see an example of that.
The love scenes were also meh for me, I don't need it to be mega explicit or anything but I wasn't a fan of the ambiguous descriptions. I would read a paragraph and then realize, oh! They're having sex! I think you can be sensual and not explicit about it without being confusing.
Anyway, now I can say I read it.
