I really don't know what to say that the quote on the cover about this book being a big gay hug doesn't already encapsulate. Arthur and Linus are absolutely adorable together, the kids are all sweet, and Linus' character development was extremely well-executed. Also this book gave me some Lemony Snicket vibes? It doesn't bother building out the city or DICOMY or the village beyond the bare bones necessitated by the plot, which is a commonality it has with Snicket's work. What form of government does this country use? What does the city look like? We have no idea, and this made the book feel middle grade in the best of ways to me.
