Family Family by Laurie Frankel
4.25
I really wanted this to be a 5 ⭐️ book but there were just things I didn’t like. The biggest thing was that I found the main character India very frustrating when she was in college. I loved SO much about the book and her as a mom but the way she lost herself in the male character of the play and thus forgets something was just really flighty. And maybe that’s just what the author needed to have happen in order for the rest of the book to play out the way it did but I just found it really frustrating. With that being said, as an adoptive mom I’m so glad this book exists and love the message that all adoption stories are unique. I still believe that there is loss at the base of every adoption - the lose of the child being raised with their biological mom/family. However, I appreciate what this book is doing and the story of love at the center of it all.
