All The Feels by Olivia Dade
4.0
This book is so much fun - great characters, great premise, great writing. I love when I find a book (and author) that realizes you don’t have to reinvent the wheel. What you DO need to do, however, is MAKE A GOOD WHEEL. A beautiful wheel. A unique wheel. Heck, even just a plain ole high quality wheel. Meaning, this book embraces tropes and does them well and with believability. But more than that, Dade really takes tropes, expectations, and dynamics and flips them on their heads here. I love it! More of that please. I appreciate how subtly non-traditional this book really is. I thought it was all so fun and really entertaining. I am an Olivia Dade fan.
One of the neat little things about this book is how every now and then a chapter will end with a text convo, an email, or a piece of fic that illuminates or expands on a detail or plot point from that chapter. I found them really clever and entertaining.
A few of my favorite things about All The Feels:
• Homes that look like castles
• Pretty Woman references
• A road trip
• AO3 Fanfic
• Body positivity
• A MMC who is well versed in consent and boundaries, takes women seriously, and treats them with respect
• A hotel room with a broken/stuck AC (How will they ever get warm?)
