Something Fabulous truly is absolutely, delightfully fabulous! This has to be one of if not the most unhinged books I've read in the best way possible. My face actually hurt from grinning at one point because it was so bonkers I was just cackling like a nutter

🐝 AO3 style tags this book would have: childhood friends-to-enemies-to-lovers, crack!fic, BEES!?, historical romance but make it gay and bonkers, surprise tenderness, demisexual rep, delightful banter, banter as foreplay, banter in any situation really, crackity crack crack, one of them may be a duke not sure can't remember, hunting lodges decorated in the colour of genetalia, somewhat OTT side character.🐝

Banter may not be a trope in itself but it's one of my favourite things when done right. And oh man, does Alexis Hall do it right. Bonny and Valentine's interactions are so damn amazing, as are they themselves. They're just two lovable chaotic idiots trying their best. Valentine possible the bigger idiot and Bonny the more chaotic one 🤣 They are so perfect together, I can't handle it!

Bonny being so confident in how amazing he is yet getting flustered and quiet when Valentine sincerely tells him he's beautiful made me scream into my pillow. And Valentine going from needing a performance review on his kissing because he was so worried he wasn't making it the best he could for Bonny to trusting that Bonny would speak up and tell him if something needed to change made me so proud I might've shed a tear. And the sex? It was so THEM! The laughing and being ridiculous and silly and teasing the hell out of each other but also being so fond of and hot for each other? Arghh, it was so good! And the bonkers shit that happens in this book made me snort laugh so hard I nearly choked once or twice. Totally worth it.
