The whole Miscommunication Between Alina and mal had me grinding My teeth... I prefer him to Nikolai as i think Alina is just a means to an end with him.... But.... although the Darkling is Evil... the Chemistry in the first book between him and Alina was what i wanted for her and Mal not, not speaking most the book...

And Zoya.... I HATE HER!!!!

And why is the Only solution to Beating the Darkling Killing all these legendary creatures.... They have not even looked at other ways he could be defeated... Even for a Plan B... Plus she has no idea what it will do... it could turn her crazy and make her destroy the world for all she knows....
