Aposimz, Volume 2 by Tsutomu Nihei

3.0

The art and hard sci-fi grab me but I'm still not in love with the action. Tsutomu Nihei's action scenes have always been hard for me to follow, moreso with the sparse linework here, and the fact that these dorky armor suits all look the same doesn't help. Apparently they're different colors, you can see this in the color pages at the beginning of the book, but of course the rest is in black and white. Another unfortunate thing is the dialogue, which might be due to the translation, but its silly. No other way to say it. It makes sense that BLAME! was almost wordless, and this might not be Nihei's strong suit. Still, the story is cool, with shades of Nausicaa thematically and visually, and Titania is a great character. Will continue...
