I have tried to compare this to The Sword of Kaigen, but they are two totally different books.  I went into this book knowing nothing, and I am glad I did.   I enjoyed this book almost as much as Kaigen.    I liked that the plot took a completely different direction in the middle of the book, and it worked.  Great ending.
