Tenderness by Robert Cormier
5.0
ROBERT CORMIER, HORROR
This book is provocative, riveting, intense. I will admit, while reading it I wondered that if it wasn't required...would I put it down or not? I'm glad I kept reading. I'm glad I didn't put it down. While it is a somewhat disturbing book, it is one that explores humanity and how we connect with other humans. We look into the human psyche and try to grapple with mental illness and identity. What I most enjoyed about this book was seeing how Eric and Lori developed in their fixations and fascinations with tenderness. Because that is what the human experience is about--how we experience each other.
