Well Met by Jen DeLuca
4.0
Well Met is a lighthearted romance with relatable characters. It follows Emily, a 20-something who moves to a small town to help her sister recover from an accident and ends up getting involved in the local Renaissance faire.
Although there is plenty of humor, it does tackle serious subjects like being a caregiver and dealing with grief. Surprisingly, it was one of th better depictions of grief I've seen in fiction. I loved that we see Simon, the hero, still grieving for his brother 2 years later and coping with the feelings that can come from various "milestones."
I really liked Simon in general, and thought he was a refreshing twist on the usual alpha male heroes. There was a hint of enemies to lovers at the beginning, but Simon eventually shows himself to be a sensitive, caring man, and he's also a nerd. The relationship development is Hallmark movie levels of predictable but that's ok. I recommend this if you're looking for a cute romance/women's fiction.
