The Vampire of Kings Street by Asha Greyling
4.0
I enjoyed this gothic mystery. It was set in 19th century New York, but in a universe where vampires were real and outed in society, having to serve upper class families. I was intrigued by the synopsis. Radhika was a likable character, a woman who wanted to make a future for herself as a lawyer and was fair and balanced. She wanted to solve the mystery and she also wanted to know, for her own sake, if the vampire was guilty of the crimes he was accused of.
This mystery wasn’t overly dark or violent, but I wouldn’t classify it as cozy, either. It was sort of teetering on the line and was dark enough to suit me. There wasn’t any romance in this book, either, but honestly the way vampires were portrayed in this world, I’m not they’d make very good love interests what with them being so ghostly
and uncomfortably dead looking. I would definitely read more books by this author and honestly hope she writes in the same world again because I’m intrigued by it and I wanted to Miss Dhingra to solve more cases!
