Re-read in 2021:
On a reread, this book is still engaging and fun with a balance between interesting world-building and character development. It's funny to see how much danger Ron, Harry, and Hermione find themselves in without trying that hard. I believe it helps ground that as exciting as the wizarding world is, it is also dangerous, especially for children. I appreciated seeing how Hermione especially, despite being very intelligent, is flawed and can be very annoying even to me as a reader. I am excited to continue rereading this series and seeing how we explore Ron and Harry's flaws more and also see these characters grow and mature. Still absolutely love this series.
