Stone Butch Blues by Leslie Feinberg
5.0
“I didn’t really believe I lived in anyone’s memory but my own.”
This book is about grief and love and terror and healing. This book will split you open and then repair the wound. The story and prose of this book sometimes felt like pieces of me were being mirrored back; I saw so much of myself in these pages it nearly hurt. One of the books I would recommend not knowing much about prior to reading (except for trigger warnings, very much heed the trigger warnings). It’s a truly excellent book about queer liberation that reads like a memoir and illuminates the life pre and post Stonewall American queer while reaffirming the fact that we have always been here.
