Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid

5.0

I had high expectations for this book simply because The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo was so amazing. I don’t know how fair it is to have such high expectations from a book but it met every single one of them. Daisy Jones & The Six was a really great book. I was originally worried about it because the formatting was something that I’ve never seen in a book but it was the probably the best way to tell this story.

Taylor Jenkins Reid manages to put you right in the middle of the 70s rock and roll scene. Although all of the horrible behaviors are never glamorized which I liked because a lot of the time, especially when it comes to bands and drugs in books and movies it is glamorized but it dives deeper into the impact of drug abuse, both of using it and how your life falls apart and how hard it is to stay sober. Trust in marriage is a big thing. I think, though, the biggest thing this book deals with is stability and instability. It’s handled really well.

This book to no ones surprise is obviously really good so I definitely recommend this book to anyone that’s interested.
