Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - Parts One and Two by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne
5.0
I have read a lot of critical reviews about this book but I personally really enjoyed this one.
• This book showed a different side of Snape
• This book showed that even friendships sometimes face challenges when a friend is over weighed by jealousy
• Definitely shows a more realistic side of Dumbledore and all his perfection eulogised in previous books. He is a mortal after all and is selfish and ambitious at times.
• Positive characterisation of Draco and the Malfoys
• The romance between Ginny and Harry is more realistic as well, shows how Ginny understands and supports Harry and his caring and protective attitude towards her.
• The supporting characters finally get the positive attention they deserve specially Longbottom, Luna, Kreacher, centaurs, etc.
• A duel between Voldemort and Harry! Yasss!
• And finally a very satisfactory future reveal, an attempt to state " life goes on" and "happily ever after".
I really enjoyed this book as it actually brought all the plot twists and a critical look at all the characters, showed a different side of all the characters cuz believe it or not, everyone has both a positive and negative side to them. No one ever became successful without being a bit selfish, and ambitious. And every one who is underestimated, is strong and just needs the right opportunity to be their best self.
