I swear that i’ve tried to finish this last installment since i’ve enjoyed the other books so much, but i couldn’t bring myself to do it.
Rhapsodic gripped me in such a way that i was pleasantly surprised with it, although the plot wasn’t that great, the characters won me enough to make me want to keep going with this series. I really really enjoyed the first one.
The sequel was fine (loved the first part but the second one dragged far too much for my liking) but not nearly as fine as the first book; still the banter between Des and Callie was enough for me that i picked up the novella (which i must admit was better than the second book, even though at the end i was sick of Des’s endless monologue about how much he loved Callie).
But then i realized that i was losing interest in this series (i guess fantasy romance is not my jam) and in an attempt to amend this i thought that i would read the last book because it surely was going to be great; k it turns out that it wasn’t.
I was bored and uninterested, i still like their relationship but it was not enough to grip my attention anymore, the plot has been painfully predictable all the while but yet again i could forgive this, i guess not in this one; i still wanted to know how it would end so i skimmed a big chunk of the book until the very last chapters and let me tell you, what kind of “villain’s defeat” was that?
Anyways, disappointed but not surprised
