GOSH, QUE MALDITO PIQUE.

Review pendiente, para cuando me recupere del book hangover y se me pase el pique. QUE PIQUE. ¿Uno se puede entrar a libros a matar gente?

EDIT. I'm going to leave my rant over there, just to remind myself how I was feeling just after I finished the book.

A lot of people have read this book, I came a little late to the party. Now I know why it’s so popular. I loved it from start to finish.

The story is told by Cathy, the elder sister, and it’s such a nice, powerful voice. I could totally relate to her feelings and way of thinking, and I love how realistic she was even since she was twelve (by the end of the book she is fifteen). The pace is a little slow, but believe me, it’s better this way. We can feel what they’re feeling, the boredom, the hope, the despair, the resentment… so many feelings!

I have to say, I have hate a lot of characters in books, movies, series, fanfictions… but never I have hated someone so much like a hate Corrine, the “mother” (a big title for her) of the children. I even have fantasized about the worst punishment for someone as despicable as her. There are no words to describe how awful this character was. I’m not very fond of the “grandmother” either, but still, the “mother” takes the prize.

Despite all my hate for those awful characters, Flowers in the Attic is an amazing read, I loved it so much. And a warning, it leaves you with a HUGE book hangover!
