Astounding. A beautiful and sad reflection on the relentless cruelty of age and fragility. This is the type of literature that should be taught in English lit classes, replacing the original dead white man Canon. Truly universal in scope, revelatory in its wisdom, and spectacularly accessible in its prose. This should be widely read by everyone.
