Enclave by Ann Aguirre

I really enjoyed Enclave! It was a solid dystopian novel.

There were some things that made this book stand out from some of the other dystopian books out there. The first thing was that there were zombies involved. This was the first dystopian book that I have read that has incorperated zombies into the mix. I liked how they were percieved as characters in the book. They were another interesting issue for the main characters to deal with. I also liked how there wasn't just one civilization that was around after the apocolyptic happenings. There were at least two (that we learn of in the first book) underground groups of people as well as other unknown numbers of people up on the serface of Earth.

I liked Deuce, but didn't find myself a huge fan of hers. My favorite character was Fade. I liked the way that he was mysterious, but opened up throughout the story and you get to learn more about him and his past. The love triangle was definitely not a strong point for me in this book. I thought that the romance between Fade and Deuce was perfect and should have happened, but (I won't spoil) the third angle of the triangle didn't feel right to me. I was really surprised when I read about it at first. I thought it was kind of rushed and not developed enough.

After I finished the book, I found myself wanting to learn more and find out what was happening next. This is a perfect book for people that like dystopians, but wish for more action and adventure! A really good read that is worth it!
