Harry Dresden comes up against Werewolves in this entertaining adventure with the Wizard PI, but as Bob tells Harry, there is more than one type of Werewolf, which certainly added a fascinating twist to this tale.
The character of Harry Dresden as a wise-cracking Wizard is very engaging and made more so once you realise that even though he is a Wizard and can do magic, he has his limits and is not all-powerful, so his human frailties get in the way at times, which when you are contending with Werewolves, Biker Gangs, Mob Bosses, the FBI and the Police, can be a problem.
There is a lot of dry, dark, sardonic wit and humour throughout the book which just adds to the overall enjoyment, but also helps to lighten what would otherwise be a very dark tale.
This is a fast-paced, high-octane, tension-filled adventure, that sees Harry trying to solve first the mystery of who is responsible for the killings that happened both on the days of the full moon, but also the days either side of it, and then trying to stop further killings from taking place, making this an enthralling page-turner from start to finish.
