I listened to this book slowly mostly on my way to and from work over the course of a couple months. It was surprisingly funny and helped carry me far away to island time, if only for a brief while, and helped me decompress from stressful work days. I loved following Slocum's path around the globe and thinking about the challenges he faced in a pre-1900 world. Essential reading for all sons of sons of sailors.
