A Slow Fire Burning by Paula Hawkins
3.0
Low expectations made this far more enjoyable than I think it was for others. I kept hearing people not like this so I wasn’t sure I would either.
I wanted it to be more thriller and instead it’s more mystery.
Unfortunately it’s biggest drawback is too many characters that I never felt too invested with any of them. And apparently we had two mysteries going on but the second one is handled mostly off screen it begs the question of why it was relevant
The book within the book - while interesting in its own right - added nothing to this story. The conversations ABOUT this book cover enough that you don’t need the book within a book chapters. Additionally, that story was far more interesting.
All my feedback was negative but I did enjoy it. But I’m also glad I got it from the library
