A meandering book told by a detached and rather unlikeable narrator who seems not like a human but more like an ambiguous and slightly soulless entity that observes and throws facts at you. Julius ostensibly has human connection yet his friend goes unnamed despite Julius thinking he will miss that friend, which I feel is representative of how Julius does not seem to really care about anything aside from what he just tells the reader he cares about. At every chapter I felt as if the book could have just ended and I would have gotten as much as I did out of it as in the following chapters.
