The Gambler by Fyodor Dostoevsky

3.0

Interesting read that may take a second walk through the text in order to fully appreciate. As-is, I felt like Dostoevsky did a fantastic job helping you feel the thrill and risk of gambling throughout this book, and he certainly made me interested in seeing where everything would end up turning out when it was all said and done. That being said, I at times struggled to follow the thematic development of the story or to really understand the point of the story when it was all said and done. Someday, I want to come back to this text with some other fellow readers in order to better understand it.

Rating: 3-3.5 Stars (Fairly Good).
