The Book of Lost Names by Kristin Harmel
4.0
Absolutely phenomenal story. It will break your heart and keep you on the edge of your seat even when you think you know how the story ends you’ll still be wrecked with concern.
The story felt very realistic to me, overall, and I loved that the author kept me on my toes not knowing who and if I could trust. It was so nerve wracking. Every time we met a new character I was convinced they would couldn’t be trusted, no matter who was vouching for them.
We had a wide range of characters that also felt incredibly human and real to me. Not everyone was likable and those who I found frustrating and annoying also had incredibly valid reasons for acting the way they did and I truly felt like I understood everyone’s driving motives throughout the story.
This review is honestly a mess but I’ve been crying over this book for like 30 minutes so let me just present this like it’s coherent okay.
If you like historical fiction/wwii fiction I highly recommend. Fans of the Alice Network I think would really like this (and vice versa)
