The Testaments by Margaret Atwood

5.0

I’ve finished this book and I genuinely feel myself tearing up because it’s over, which is insane, however, the mark of a phenomenal story. Atwood has done it yet again, and has satisfied us readers by answering all the tantalising questions that were left unresolved, floating in the abyss for over three decades. It’s an understatement to say I loved this book. The three women’s perspectives are so incredibly contrasting yet interconnected, and provide a rich and detailed picture of the world of Gilead and it’s terrifying regime. It was heartwarming, nail-biting and tense in all the right ways. It will be very hard for me to find a book that will offer me the same kind of reading experience like this again. I will most likely add more to this review once I’ve collected my racing thoughts about the novel. But for now, I only have two words that come to mind...Absolutely genius.
