One Italian Summer by Rebecca Serle

3.0

This review is pure commentary…

- 35% so far I don’t like it.
All she does is eat, sleep, and miss her mother. I know that sounds awful and I’m sorry for her loss, but it doesn’t make for a very interesting book thus far. I think and hope things are about to finally get more interesting.
- She is being so weird with her mom/this random person. She just needs to tell this Carroll that she reminds her so much of her mother whom she just lost. Same name. Doppelgänger appearance. Her mother was also in Italian when she was the same age, and that is what inspired the trip. That wouldn’t be too weird if she plays it off as a crazy coincidence and not some supernatural event.
- 49% having an open jug of water at a bar for people to self serve sounds like a date rape situation waiting to happen
- 51% is he really going to make a move and take advantage of her being this drunk?! Even if she says it’s okay, it isn’t okay. That isn’t real consent. She is soooo drunk.
- 61% how can you like Greek mythology but not Roman. They are the same mythology, just changed slightly and renamed.

- In the end, I liked it. It was a good ending.
Although I sort of feel bad that she cheated on her husband.
