The Long Way Home by Harper Sloan
5.0
Harper Sloan is back!!!
After five years away, she has triumphantly returned and returned in style by giving her loyal readers another story in the fantastic Corps Security Series.
But I'm sure I wasn't the only one who wondered how she would do this given its been ten years since the series ended.
However, Harper brilliantly works around this by binding the old with the new, and starting The Long Way Home in Boston with Olivia and her niece five-year-old Riley. Who falls for hard-ass Drew. A mysterious, yet gorgeous older man who one day declares he is going to walk them home to ensure they are safe.
Of course, there is more to the story. And the connection between Olivia, Drew and Riley is instantaneous, and the more time the three of them spend together the more Olivia starts to fall.
But she also knows Drew has secrets.
Secrets that surface when a face from the past turns up on Drew's doorstep and the truth of who Drew really is, is revealed.
And to Hope Town. Where the shocking reality of Drew's secret is laid bare.
Yet, back in Boston danger lurks.
But now Drew has Corps Security and Zac Cooper to help him protect Riley the little girl who helped bring him back to life.
And with heart, heat, secrets, emotion, old faces and new. This was the perfect story for Harper Sloan to come back with and I would happily recommend it to all. I would also urge anyone who has yet to read a Harper Sloan story to do it now as you won't be disappointed.
