(copy pasting this from a whatsapp conversation) i do not like it because despite how masterful it is i hate how depressing it is lol i mean i guess the depression Was the point but i hate it its a stupid point. plus it's such an old book there's queer coding of bad character even if its not presented in a bad way and also the women are just basically fighting machines + procreation purposes + the only role they can have is mystical mothers, religious figures, etc etc... herbert is a smart author but idk its just weird. despite that its a book i think that should be read once if someone wants to or sth
