Broken by Daylight by Elizabeth Helen
5.0
A big thank you to NetGalley, Elizabeth Helen, and HarperCollins for allowing me to have an ARC for this book in exchange for an honest review.
Shall I compare thee to a summers Day(ton)
I’m pretty sure my emotions going into this book were certainly far from being more lovely or more temperate because I was NOT okay knowing we were throwing ourselves into a war zone, the Summer Realm being overrun and one of our MMCs apparently having a fated Mate that was not our FMC. Uncalled for emotionally. “Broken” by Daylight might just be the most accurate title yet.
It’s strange that a book that seems so riddled with war and despair could be so filled with a feeling of finding peace with oneself and accepting love in all circumstances. The amount of times of held my breath through this book and audibly gasped I’m sure have my dogs thinking I’ve finally stepped over the edge into full insanity. This is only book 4 and I’m not actually sure how I’m going to make it through 3 more books of this kind of staggering emotional turmoil book by book.
That being said, now that I’m 4 books in, I’m quite sure I’m so excruciatingly attached to these characters that I would follow them into each next book without question. This one was written beautifully, the pieces coming together how I thought they might but still not at all how I expected. I cannot wait to see what Elizabeth Helen has in store for us in the future, nor can I wait for this book to release so it can take its place on my shelf with the rest of them.
