Not gonna lie, I expected to rate this much lower, because this is my second time attempting to read this book.
The first time, I had just lost my dad and uncle and dealing with their funerals. Probably not the best time to read about necromancers.
And this book also is a classic fantasy, so it naturally takes a while to get into the world on your first read. Add onto that that I had issues with the author's writing style, that was fixed listening to this on audiobook. The idiosyncrancies aren't as horrible.
Beyond that, if I had gotten through this on the first read, I probably would've given this story a 5 stars as the ending was just *chef's kiss*. Not sure when I'll finish the series though as I have several in progress.
