This is a superb work of non-fiction. It reads like a novel, with a seamless flow from backstory to current narrative. The writing is gorgeous and vivid. It's obviously a well-researched account of the days after Hurricane Katrina. The atrocities committed are described in such a way that doesn't pass on judgement and allows the reader to get angry on her own. So many horrible things occurred that most Americans don't know about. The resiliency of New Orleans and her residents hasn't been displayed in such a lovely way before. This is an important book, everyone should read it.
