The Son of Neptune by Rick Riordan

5.0

I have to talk about Frank. Frank is my son. My baby boy. My sweet child. My little basket of self-doubt and courageous joy. He really made this book for me. Of course, I love Hazel and I love Percy, but Frank was my star. He had a wild, heartbreaking journey alongside Hazel and Percy, and he exemplifies the idea of finding your courage through your love for others (platonic and romantic). He also internalizes a lot of the hate others push onto him, and to see his thoughts go from “I’m a clumsy oaf” to “I’m the strongest ox” was beautiful. Frank embraces his body by the end of the book, and we love him for that.

OKAY TIME TO GO CRY ‘CAUSE MARK OF ATHENA IS REALLY GONNA MESS ME TF UP!!!!
